Good evening peeps! I have three noteworthy things to share and no, they couldn’t wait for another day 🙂 two posts in one day? This rarely happens! But it is a new year, thus, new adventures to be had, so here we are.

Jane Austen… and the tale of 7 books

I’m normally always reading one fiction book while reading other nonfiction things too. Today, I didn’t have anything to read fiction-wise so I selected one from my stack (one of them anyway). It’s about Jane Austen characters and backstories and as I was inspected it about to read… I realize… I should really know Jane Austen characters.

So I set the book down after reading three pages. I didn’t want to have to get into it and not know anything about Mr. Darcy and such.

I just so happen to have the Barnes and Noble Jane Austen Collection book (like a textbook though) on my shelf! I hadn’t read it before – does not mean I haven’t tried. So I took the book off my shelf and I guess I’m going to begin the journey to reading the seven stories within. I started the audiobook of Sense and Sensibility while I worked today, not sure how much I got from it, but hopefully I can make some headway tonight. It may take me a whole month to get through all these titles, just to read one book might I add! Although, I’ve been wanting to read Jane Austen for a while but the big book was intimidating. This forces me to do what I had wanted to do anyway!

It’s Lit

The heading is misleading because it wasn’t lit. The bulb! That’s what I’m talking about. I’ve had issues with lighting in my room, nothing major, just preferences. I’ll explain!

My lamp has been super weird lately and I think the turn switch needs to be replaced because it doesn’t turn on at the click, it’s at an in-between space. This isn’t normal.

Today, I turned it out when I left the house. When I came home to turn it back on, nothing worked. At all. Nooooooooooooooo. *sadness*

Two things crossed my mind: either I’m needing a new bulb or a whole new lamp!

I took the bulb out and it didn’t rattle – I thought bulb that were burnt out were supposed to rattle. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I have this other lamp that I have in my room, but I never use with a bulb still in it – I don’t use the lamp because I don’t like the bulb (is this another story? No, it’s explained here). I must use this bulb for my daily use lamp. I put it in the light socket and it works. Let there be light! And there was.

I’m not happy with the light the bulb gives off. It completely clashes with my warm light vibes – this “soft white.” I’m going to have to go on a hunt for the bulb color I love and stock up. I would look at the bulb that I took out of the lamp, but… the writing has worn off so I couldn’t see anything. At least I have light. I guess.

UPDATE: I went to the store for bulbs and ended up finding what I needed and learning something. The bulb I thought I had that was “soft white” was actually a “daylight.” *facepalm* So, I’m back in business with a soft white bulb! Shoutout to the helpful gentleman named Dennis at Home Depot for the help this evening!

I hope your day has been tubular. It doesn’t really feel like a Tuesday to me, but BSF starts soon and that will get me back in the groove of things for sure!
