When we don’t agree with something in the Bible, it’s simply because we lack God’s wisdom ~ our opinions are formed or infected by the world’s view on the matter. It’s not that the Word isn’t fair. It’s that the fairness scale we’re using is not applicable.
How have you let your personal, worldly opinion effect how you FELT about the Bible?
It’s a heart issue, really. How we feel is connected to our hearts, more or less. Did you know that the heart is deceitful? We must guard our hearts, above all other things we could possibly guard. Our hearts feel so many things. If our heart isn’t into reading something, do you think we’ll read it? Probably not. You or someone you know has probably said those exact words, “My heart just isn’t in it right now.”
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Proverbs 4:23
Do you think God wants us to have our hearts in it? I think He wants everything we have to give to be in Him. He doesn’t want just part of us, but everything.
Be careful. Don’t let your heart be deceived so that you turn away from the Lord and serve and worship other gods.
Deuteronomy 11:16
If we’re lacking biblical understanding, we simply need to spend more time with Him through prayer and reading His word. Praise God that we have His written Word in so many forms ~ you can read it physically or digitally, you can listen to it even. What a time to be alive!
If we’re conflicted on a biblical viewpoint, it’s because we’ve lacked the wisdom to form a biblical stance. There always more of it go around and much more to gain.
Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.
Isaiah 8:20
It’s amazing how much is in the Bible to keep learning for the rest of our lives! I’ve read many stories and many stories again. The second or third time around, you’d be surprised what sticks out differently. I encourage you this week to read. Simply read and let His word speak to you.
