4th Truth of Christmas – 2019

Money Issues

A ton of money gets spent during this season. That’s something we can all agree on. Some businesses make up their losses from earlier in the year in the month of December. Other businesses are in a make or break this time of year. Consumers maybe riding on the hope of a Christmas-time bonus from their employer in order to buy Christmas. Sometimes the funds just aren’t there.

What do you say about all these sales? Black Friday and even Christmas sales are not always the best deals, those are for last minute shoppers, that’s how businesses get your money! What do I do? Well, I guess I’m a pretty frequent shopper with my coupons. Kohl’s cash, Kohl’s coupons, Target Circle, to name a few. I also enjoy thinking of people while I shop. If I see something that reminds me of someone I’m close to, I pick it up, usually have a coupon or it’s on sale/clearance, even better. I buy Christmas year-round in preparation. It honestly takes a lot of stress away from making a list, trying to figure out what to buy someone if you already have something in your closet. I’m usually done by the end of November, this year was no different.

I’m a gift giver – if you’re not so much, watch for Truth#9 🙂

Stewardship

As Christians even, we are called to be good stewards of the resources we are given. Money is our main resource and it’s needed in the world. Everything we own is God’s. How are we using His resources well? Where do we need improvement? Is this Christmastime being used to glorify Him and His nature?

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all it’s people belong to him.

Psalm 24:1

Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.

Proverbs 3:9

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

James 1:17
