ABILITY

I feel like, looking back, I’ve always been in position to help others and I’ve always had the ability to. Did I always? No. Growing up, I didn’t have friends that had any basic needs that were not met. Based on that, I was blind to the needs of the world until I saw homeless people or noticed all the food drives, clothes drives, or winter time coat drives for kids.

I see those needs now out in the world, in my own city.

There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.

Deuteronomy 15:11

I feel the need to not only participate and hold food drives during this busy holiday season, but during the year in other months. Hunger, lack of shelter and lack of proper or sufficient clothing is always in need – even to those not homeless. If we have the ability, let’s use it.

I’m thankful for this ability. I love to give and without this ability, I would still give all I could to help others. When I’m low on funds, sometimes only what I have or as low as a dollar can be multiplied by God. Sometimes I ask, do people still give their last dollar to someone else in need?

In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Matthew 5:16

  1. A beautiful post! If we all put other people’s needs before our own, we would see a huge difference in our society ❀️
