My dear readers… it’s with great pride that I get to announce my favorite (and only) nephew’s birthday this week!! He turns EIGHT. Man… time has flown. I know it was just yesterday when I was dressing him for the day or feeding him his baby food via spoon train!

He’s grown a ton… as in an eight year old is on his way to being taller than me WAY TOO FAST. If anyone knows what will make him stay little forever, let me know!

I love that he has energy to help others. Helping is his favorite thing to do (other than probably act like the little brother I never had but always wanted… for SOME reason). Every day he wants to help in some way and I hope and pray that his servant heart only grows and he uses his gift to serve God as he grows up.

I love that he asks questions when he doesn’t know something. As kids do, they’re curious and ask questions, but I wasn’t one of those kids – I don’t remember asking questions because I just accepted things as they were. He asks questions after a bed time story from his kid’s storybook bible and I answer as much as I can until he throws another question at me.

He excels in his school work, although sometimes gets frustrated when he doesn’t understand something right away. Math is one of his strongest subjects and I couldn’t be more proud! I’m thinking by age 10 we’ll be learning algebra during the summer with Teacher/Auntie Summer !! 🙂
