This Isn’t The Light God Intended

Setting the Scene:

I have issues with things I can’t change every once in a while. (This is when I need to read the serenity prayer…)

One of those times is when I’m at work and one of the ceiling tile lights is flickering. It’s really dim and just blinking super fast. If it would talk back, I’d probably say “Can you not?” but since it can’t I just say it in my head.

The light that’s causing my problems is behind me, so it’s not a huge issue unless I get up or turn around from my desk. Even then, it’s not the end of the world kind of issue, but it’s been flickering for over a month now and I just want it fixed 🙂

The What?:

God probably thinks about us that way, too – why have they been given the power to be the light, but they’re flickering in between the world they live in and the one they’re called from??

You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

Matthew 5:14

When we’re caught in between, it’s our flesh getting the best of us. We have the power through the Holy Spirit to be whatever God calls us to be. He has a plan and His plan ALWAYS calls us to be the light to the world. The world alone is a dark place, wherever the Holy Spirit is inside us and wherever we are, there should be light that brightens up everything we encounter.

If we’re having trouble flickering, we can ask God for help. That help may not be the absolute power to just not flicker, but He gives opportunities to choose Him over the world, every single day.

Will you shine bright today?
