This post cracks me up. Prepare for the most random stories of how my lunches go. The 2019 section was typed in 2019 and was sitting in draft status. LOL
***2019***
So, as Iโm trying to live my life, lunch is a huge part of my day as far as decision making goes. Iโll start getting hungry and Iโll snack. At some point, around 11am, I have to tell myself NO MORE SNACKS, at which point my stomach turns into a whale lost at a beach and begging for attention. So, to ease the ears of my coworkers, I stroll to the kitchen for a selection of hand picked microwaveable meals.
The lean cuisine chicken enchilada suiza is probably my go to. When I have no idea, Iโm usually like hey, canโt go wrong with a good ole enchilada. Plus, in general, Lean Cuisine is pretty bomb as a meal.
If you didnโt know, I donโt cook. I also donโt prepare anything because thatโs too much work, too much timeโฆ I COULD BE BLOGGING DURING THOSE MINUTES. More than likely, Iโd be reading though.
Back to the issue โ once Iโve already taken the enchilada off the table, Iโm lost. What am I in the mood for? Usually, if I have any selections, I have no idea because theyโre all my favorites.
Youโre probably thinking, well, if theyโre all your favorites, why canโt you just pick one? Not easyโฆ Plus, what if I pick the one Iโm actually going to want to have for tomorrow and I just donโt know it yet???
Lunch life is an ISSUE, but not a big life issue, just something I live with and is one of those quirks, I guess.
***PRESENT DAY***
Today, my daily lunch at the office consists of bringing two master-crafted PB&Js that were prepared before 5am in my kitchen at home. I prefer Justin’s (the brand) honey peanut butter and Welch’s jelly in the squeeze bottle. The bread it’s on isn’t a big factor for me, but if you’re wondering, it’s usually white. I say master-crafted because they’re prepared by me and I like mine made a certain way (peanut butter on both sides, but more on one, then the jelly on the less peanut buttered slice, then I stack them and wrap them up a certain way in my Tupperware).
So that’s pretty much my lunches now because I don’t snack like I used to. I try to just drink water and eat my meals with minimal snacking. Some days I just have to though.
I’ve never used the fridge at the new building, and I’ve barely used the kitchen in general actually. I have gotten ice and water, but otherwise, I just want to be home, I guess, LOL!
I’m glad this at least eliminates the issues I had 7 years ago. Oh, how the times have changed…
So now I ask… what are your lunches like these days? Have you thought about how yours may have changed over the years? Or have they stayed the same?

Iโm so happy you were able to redeemed a seven year old draft ๐ in the 2019 timeframe when I was full time in the office, I would almost always bring a frozen dinner. Once in a while I would eat soup. What I especially loved those days was that I would eat in my car. It might sound weird, but it was a nice peaceful break away from the computer. Now working from home I still eat frozen dinners often because itโs something quick. However I have been eating sandwiches more often on different days. I usually eat with my husband too. Once in a while if he is off somewhere I will make a one egg omelet and eat oatmeal with it. That might sound weird too, but M-F I donโt eat breakfast. So eating breakfast for lunch isnโt too crazy for me. (And side note, I actually started doing the no breakfast over 2 years ago and thatโs how I lost 25 lbs. My husband loves breakfast, so thatโs why I will eat breakfast with him on Saturday and Sunday.) Thanks for this fun post. Now I want an enchilada with PB&J for dessert. ๐

Thereโs more where that came from, Bridget! ๐ I had over 200 drafts. Iโve trashed several because Iโd put very little detail into the post and it was just this IDEA but I have no idea where it was goingโฆ ๐
Anyway, thatโs great you were able to lose so much this way!! I rarely eat breakfast. I usually eat something light on Sunday morningsโฆ but itโs hard to wake up and eat in the mornings. Thatโs my reason ๐
I just got back into omelets after YEARS of not eating eggs! So wild.
Thanks for sharing! ๐ค

P&B, yum! For me, Summer: two wholewheat wraps smeared with hummus, adorned with slices of turkey, lettuce, and bell peppers. An ounce of Swiss cheese along with a handful of pistachios serves as dessert and unsweetened tea to wash it down. These changes reduced sugar, added nutrition, and increased enjoyment.
