New Days & New Horizons

It’s not often I’m aware of the sunrise in the mornings. Most days during the week, I’m working before the sun really starts to rise above the horizon. The weekend comes and I’m usually in the house getting things done early or getting ready for church. On blessed occasions, I make it outside in the cool morning air and sit on the porch facing the east to watch the sun come up.

On those days, it’s awesome. Literally puts me in awe.

A couple Saturdays ago, my sister and I went up to Kansas for my great aunt’s funeral. We were up early and hit the road. This photo is one I took when we were passing on the outskirts of our downtown.

A lot of things can pop up when we’re dealing with grief. Watching the sunrise and all the clouds roll through on the drive pointed me back to the One who is in control. We don’t have to be bogged down with the material when our Lord and Savior locked in the eternal for us by dying for us on the cross. Praise God for new days, new horizons and new opportunities!

Today’s a new day for you! Aren’t you glad He woke you up today?

Have a great Wednesday!
