The Green Of It All

A chunk of life lately hasnโ€™t been pleasant. Work life balance is off kilter and Iโ€™m feeling exhausted, drained. Anyone who says itโ€™s easier to get up earlier and drive into the office before the sun comes up, work all day and then head home in traffic clearly hasnโ€™t experienced work from home life, because after 5 years of working from home, the working in office life isnโ€™t working for me.

You know whatโ€™s been bringing me joy and helps me make it through? Itโ€™s a tiny lavender plant. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Weeks ago, I picked up a grow kit at Bass Pro. I picked out Lavender which is like my second time attempting these little grow kits, lavender specifically. I had a Daisy one but then never even planted it and it expired so I tossed it. I was hoping this time would work even though I always try to follow the instructions, these grow kits just do not like me for some reason. ๐Ÿ™‚

The package said 4-6 weeks for it to germinate. Doesnโ€™t that mean sprout up???

Within a week and a half to two weeks, I HAD SPROUTS. Iโ€™ve been so excited!!

To date, I have so many sprouts and itโ€™s bringing so much joy and anticipation to my days. I enjoy seeing the growth and watering my little plant. ๐ŸŒฑ

All Iโ€™ve been doing is keeping the soil moist, giving a little water every day, and keeping it in the window of my room where it gets a good dose of sunlight throughout the day facing east.

When I let my friend know about the excitement I had, she told me how encouraging it is for us to see growth in the nature. Thatโ€™s so true! I get pretty excited to see growth, even when trees were planted in our backyard as a kid and now theyโ€™re huge trees after 20 some years. Iโ€™ve been here for it, literally! LOL. Itโ€™s like it happens overnight at times.

We can be excited for growth and watering as well in our spiritual life.

I feel different when Iโ€™m well-watered. I feel different when Iโ€™m encouraged by His Word. I feel different when Iโ€™m obedient. Different is good because if Iโ€™m not getting these things from Him, Iโ€™m getting them from the world and itโ€™s draining and destructive to my spiritual life. Itโ€™s like being planted in bad soil, we canโ€™t grow when weโ€™re not well-watered and tended to.

Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
โ€ญโ€ญProverbsโ€ฌ โ€ญ11โ€ฌ:โ€ญ25โ€ฌ

What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are Godโ€™s fellow workers. You are Godโ€™s field, Godโ€™s building.
โ€ญโ€ญ1 Corinthiansโ€ฌ โ€ญ3โ€ฌ:โ€ญ5โ€ฌ-โ€ญ9โ€ฌ

How are you doing lately being in the presence of the Son?

Do you feel well-watered or like youโ€™re in a drought?

If youโ€™re feeling in a drought, what can you do this weekend to step back into the light?

I hope you have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend, friends!

With all the things that have brought me down over the past year, I have found that I really need to be well watered. Spending time with the Lord every day helps bring peace, even in the midst of messy situations. Great post. And I love your flowers. Thatโ€™s awesome. ๐Ÿชป
