The question
How would Jesus interact with social media if he had been born into our time? Referenced at the beginning of the book of Matthew, no specific section for reference.
The answer
Most of me thinks that Jesus wouldn’t care much for it because He’s very personal with His relationships. He works in small groups, too, so that’s part of it.
If he did use social media though, what would He even post?

Nooooooo, that’s something I would say. I don’t even know what would be worthy enough on social media for Jesus to SHARE or post… like my mind is exploding right now because I have no idea lol

How do you think Jesus would interact with social media today?
Excellent question, Summer, and one that invites practicing Christians to dig deep.
For example, multiple court cases have presented evidence of social media design that caused or contributed to the deaths of many young people. To emphasize that point, a quick search engine query of “Social Media Victims Remembrance Day June 23, 2026” will net pictorials of the hundreds lost. As you scroll that homepage, count the victims. Beyond sad.
Bottom line, the courts (not me) have shown the addictive design of the product contributed to the harm. I think Jesus would ask people to count the victims and then decide whether they should risk themselves and those they love by using social media or instead, they should focus on building offline relationships with people.
Same holds true for AI!

There’s no doubt in my mind that social media is the cause of so much harm. I have to limit my time. I only get on from my phone so I have actual daily limits in the event I start doomscrolling. It’s not good for my mental health. I can only imagine the impact for the younger generation who have completely grown up around the social media culture and trends, and now AI. If only we could go back and not let this animal get so out of control.
