The title is probably what you’ll say after reading this post. ๐
As I often am, I was shook when I came to a neighborhood intersection just after another car and they did not come to a complete stop. They rolled right through the stop sign.
I don’t know about where you live, but it happens frequently here.
I’m not saying I’m perfect, because I too have accidentally gone through a stop sign because I was distracted and didn’t register it. I’ve also ran a couple of red lights in my time, while I’m out here confessing. It was an accident.
Anyway…
I started thinking about how sometimes we see this red sign on our drive, trying to get to our destination – whether it’s our home or somewhere else – and we just kind of see it as more of a yellow sign. A warning instead of a command.
Our life is a journey, too. How are we treating the red signs God gives us?
I’m sure there’s a lot of different signs we could use, but I’m sticking with the stop sign today, folks.
God gives us a stop sign. Could mean stop for now, or could mean stop – this isn’t even the way to go, you need to turn around.
How often have we blown through the stop sign He gave us on the journey? And for the sake of what? Because we think we know better? We think it’s no big deal – no one else knows. Or maybe we’ve got a lot of distractions in our lives making it hard to even see the sign in our view.
Another lesson from the stop signs in life can be opportunities to look around. Like when you’re driving and come to a complete stop, you have that opportunity to check out the surroundings. So same way with the signs He gives us, we have that same chance to catch something in action we might not have otherwise had we been speeding by on our little course. It could be that someone is needing you to help them or talk to them.
Maybe this post will make you “stop” or maybe it’ll just make you hope it ends. ๐
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day and enjoy the ride!

I recall running a red light once. I blame my sister. She called me because she knew I was driving and thought Iโd want โcompany.โ But she distracted me instead. ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
This post was really good and I loved the thoughts here. It made me think about times when God told me to stop ๐ and I didnโt listen. Iโm so glad He doesnโt give up on us. And lately I have felt God calling me to stop and listen for Him more. So this was timely and a much needed nudge. Thank you, Summer! ๐ค

Yessss. I cannot talk and drive for some reason. I always end up doing something like that or missing my turn. I usually call before I leave somewhere or make calls when I reach my destination. If I can. lol
He doesnโt give up on us! ๐๐ป So thankful for that. ๐คโค๏ธ
