Thirsty, Hungry and in Need

Jesus Centered Bible – questions and answers category goes through the questions given throughout the New Testament of the Bible I use and I give my answers and thoughts. Always, feel free to comment your thoughts and your own answers to these questions!

The question

What are you thirsting for, hungering for, and needing from Jesus right now? Referenced in Revelation 22:17.

The answer

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.

Revelation 22:17

We’re all needy. We’re all in need of a Savior.

This is our greatest need – whether we realize it or not. Humans have this need from birth. We’re born into this sinful world. We’re immediately selfish and want our own way. We have to be brought out of that as a human, but also, as God’s child, we have to be taught the scriptures and taught how to observe and obey all He has for us.

So while our greatest need is Jesus, we may thirst, hunger and need specific things along the way. He’s our provider!

From this, I’m reminded that whatever the thing is for each of us, we have to learn to seek (Matthew 7:7).

He already knows our needs before we do (Matthew 6:8). Sometimes we don’t get the answers or our needs met because we haven’t sought Him, haven’t gone to His Word, haven’t reached out, haven’t opened our eyes to a larger picture than just our circumstances.

So what are you needing right now from Jesus? Have you asked him?
