Sometimes I have to really think about my blog’s name. 😂 I’m like… Not Your Season just sounds so negative. Why do people even follow this thing????
Maybe this post will bring clarity and encouragement today.
As I did some reading this past week, struggled to focus when reading over the weekend, I was on a chapter that mentioned “seasons” a few times. Seasons of endurance. Seasons of silence. Seasons of trust.
The text also talked a bit about perspective and how we don’t see in the middle of a season how God is working or showing us something about ourselves.
Sometimes our seasons are notable because we see the negative and that’s how they’re labeled.
I just came out of a season of darkness.
I just went through a season of trial.
I just had a season of temptation.
I’m in a season of struggle.
I’ve been in a season of oppression and hatred.
I feel like I’m in a season of doubt.
Whatever it is in the placeholder of the thing you’re in a season of, what if that wasn’t the label? Why does our tribulation get branded this way? What if instead of focusing on the situation we’re in or were in, we tagged it by pointing to the One Who brings us through it?
I just came out of a season of depending on His light for my path.
I just went through a season of believing He has good things in store.
I just had a season of turning to God instead of my temptations.
I’m in a season of trusting Him to get me through this.
I’ve been in a season of learning what forgiveness is.
I feel like I’m in a season of seeking understanding from His Word.
Do you see how the perspective changes?
So maybe it’s not your season!! Maybe you don’t want the trial – who usually does?? But either way, all glory to God! Praise God He thought we needed this! Praise God for being beside us through it! Praise God for not abandoning us in our time of need! Praise God for using us to further His kingdom! Praise God for using our situations for our good and His glory!
Maybe it’s not your season, but it’s His season. Always His season.
How God created the seasons on earth is beautiful. Out in Oklahoma, maybe we feel like we only experience two but there’s days for all the seasons, even if the numbers are skewed. Our seasons don’t last forever. They’re changing and evolving. Our seasons give us hope and a tangible way to see God’s working in our lives. We look forward to different seasons. Sometimes we complain about the one we’re in (summer time) and others we fully embrace.
What’s great about summer is probably the mornings. Sometimes the evenings. But by morning, the temperature is so much cooler. Before the sun peeks over the trees across from our house, with the breeze blowing, it’s perfect. Can’t do this in the winter. It’s far too cold in the early morning hours.
This is the only way I’ve found to embrace summer time since during the day it’s far too hot to roast on the porch or outside in general.
Encouragement today:
- The season you’re in right now – label it with a different and renewed perspective.
- Some seasons last longer than others, but they won’t make it to eternity.
- Embrace the season you’re in – asking God for clarity, strength and guidance.
- Encourage someone else this week in this regard – maybe they’re going through a similar season as you.
Scriptures:
- Psalm 119:105
- Jeremiah 29:11
- 1 Corinthians 10:13
- Proverbs 3:5
So, from one season to another…
With grace,
Summer

Such a powerful perspective. Thank you for this! ♥️ I like your blog name. I always thought you were trying to say that Summer doesn’t refer to the season, but it refers to your name. 😁 Also, I agree with the mornings, especially the last couple of mornings here in the sunshine state. Friday morning especially brought the promise that fall was on the way. 🍂🍁

It’s become my brand for over a decade that I forget the origin. 😂 Definitely name related though since I wasn’t born in the summer.
We’re finally getting some more rain here tonight – I’m hoping it cools it down. 🙏🏻 Come on, fall! We’re ready. ❤️
Thanks for stopping by! 🤗
