What would you do if you lost all your possessions?
As devastating as it would be in the moment to lose all the possessions one stores up in this world, I’d be okay, because I’ve got Jesus. 🙂
Most of my possessions, by the numbers of possessions, would definitely be the books. In that regard… pretty devastating to literally lose a library. At the of the day though, it’s just paper. The only book I need is the Bible.
Most expensive possession? Probably my Mustang. Well, not probably, but currently it is, until I buy a house.
When I first got it, I was pumped to do modifications to it. Like I finally got my dream car, this sick muscle car. I had big dreams. Only thing I’ve done is get a louder exhaust installed (not too loud, but definitely loud on 5am mornings in the garage or if I haven’t started it in a while). I didn’t do anything for the first year to it. Making payments kind of made that impossible, but then my Dad’s friend was like “You shouldn’t do anything until you have this paid off so it’s truly yours.” That went out the window when I got a stimulus check though and got that exhaust system. 👀 Then shortly after, I paid it off and I guess I lost all motivation to do anything else.
Somewhere along the way, my goals changed and my mindset on temporary things have been altered. It doesn’t help that I don’t have close friends that are into the things I’ve always been interested in. It’s hard to keep that kind of enthusiasm going when you don’t hang out with anyone.
So books are always there for me. I fall into them daily and they catch me. There are things to read every where in my world and I’ve seemed to have found some really great books this year I think.

Not Your Season: Summer's Blog 
We know a couple who recently had a house fire and lost everything, including a vehicle that was in the garage. So heartbreaking! For the most part I don’t consider myself to be materialistic. Most items wouldn’t be painful to lose. But there are definitely some things that I would be sad to lose. And of course starting over and buying necessities would be costly. But you are right – we have Jesus and ultimately He is our one true need. I bet if your dad was still with you, you would probably be more motivated to do upgrades to your car. Was he into muscle cars? But on the bright side, at least you are saving money by not doing those things that you originally planned to do. And you have more money for your library 😅

That would be so heartbreaking! I think about how there’s some people who lose things in a fire like that and they don’t know what to do and then there’s other who tell everyone that they’re fine because they know God will provide even through the ashes.
He probably would! We’d go to car shows together for sure. He just enjoyed cars in general. I’m not a talker and I don’t engage people in conversation – I let other people do that. Dad was that person to engage anyone in conversation. 😂 He could talk to anyone.
I’m definitely saving money in regard to the vehicle but definitely funneling it directly into the goods, aka books! 😂
