Are you seeking security or adventure?
What a writing prompt…
I’d like to pursue both. Here’s what I’m thinking.
Over time we’ve all sought security. Security and comfort are like gold, especially in America. I put a lot of stock in feeling secure. There’s security in things and a sense of security that we’re safe, stable and that nothing could possibly go wrong. When it ultimately will and does go south, what security do we have left?
In Jesus Christ, we are eternally secure. Is this what we’re after? It’s a toss up at times. Security in the next life should be our focus.
Finding security in Him takes us on an adventure and plunges us into the unknown.
Aside from that, I think about going on everyday adventures. Do they tend to be in a bookstore? Perhaps…
I’d like to be the type of person that sees everything as an adventure, but taking into account that I don’t do much daily, there’s not much opportunity for that outlook. From experience, I do typically see my frequent trips to the bookstore as my adventure. The biggest adventure of my life has been going to Arizona this year, so maybe the times are changing. 🙂
All that being said, I think that security and adventure can be sought together.
What do you think?

I agree with all of your thoughts! I guess ultimately every day can be an adventure, depending on our outlook. And every day we can feel secure, thanks for our relationship with Jesus. So it’s a win-win! 😁
