How I Bought the Same Book Twice

Just days after I posted How I Stress Bought 9 Books I write to you today to follow up that wonderful event with how I bought the same book twice.

No, not in the same order, like I bought quantity of 2. Although that has happened before… No, this time I bought a book that I had already read and had on my shelves! Which has also happened before.

My books finally came in the mail Friday after ordering them on Monday. I say finally because although they were at first scheduled for delivery for today, they were moved up to deliver on Thursday – that little detail brought much delight to my Wednesday. With a lot of waiting and anticipation, our lovely mail service disappointed this bookworm deeply by delaying said delivery another day. So yes, they finally came on Friday in the late afternoon hours, which is not when our mail typically arrives. It’s like they were testing my patience. I didn’t ask for patience this week. I asked for books. 🙂

This leads me to late Saturday night after I’ve finished a couple of books that day (yep, two!) and I’m organizing what I’m going to start next. I moved my newly arrived stack (remember, I ordered 9 books!??) and picked up the one book that was not a Christmas book and was reading the back of it again. That sparked memories because I was like… I have read this before. Then I’m like perhaps I read the ebook version so this is the copy for my shelves. I walk over to my bookcase and there it is. ON MY SHELF ALREADY.

Needless to say, this book, which was the end of a series, is going back to Amazon as soon as possible. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Perhaps it was the excitement of new books and the stress of work that resulted in this. You know what I’m still excited about? All the other books I got. I can’t wait to talk about them!! 🥰

Be sure to come back in a few weeks to read my blog post outlining all I’ve read in the month of July (minus this book, LOL). ❤️

I use the Kindle app on my phone for some books – utilized mostly on the go or if I’m reading in the dark. I prefer paperbacks the most, though. 🙂
