Hall & Oats, Milk or Water?

From the title of this blog post, youโ€™re probably wanting to know what in the world youโ€™re about to read. Perhaps itโ€™s a Wheel of Fortune puzzle. While youโ€™re still wondering, enjoy this Hall & Oates song!

You Make My Dream (Come True) | Hall & Oates

Anytime I think about oats, I think of Hall & Oates. Why was I thinking about oats recently, though?

A few weeks ago I discovered cookies & cream oats at the store. I was pretty excited because I donโ€™t eat much breakfast and anything cookies & cream has to be good. This theory didnโ€™t live up to reality. Theyโ€™re not bad, but I think the theory doesnโ€™t apply to oats. All oats taste the same to me.

Why the question then?

Well, todays question is whether you make your oats with milk or water.

Iโ€™ve tried both ways. First I used water and thatโ€™s what Iโ€™m used to so that wasnโ€™t anything new. I did think maybe it would be good with chocolate syrup maybe next time. That next time I tried milk instead of water. It definitely cooked up differently but ultimately tastes the same to me just more milky. I added chocolate syrup as well which really just make it more chocolate-y and I am not complaining.

My question is what do you use, why, and am I a total noob that I canโ€™t make any spectacular oatmeal???

  1. I like the raisin, date, and walnut instant oatmeal by Quaker. And I use water. Not sure if I every tried milk. Hmmm. ๐Ÿค” sounds intriguing though. Bummer about the cookies and cream, because yeah, that should have been a good one.

My go to has always been strawberries and cream when I pick an oatmeal. I have 2 more packets of cookies and cream and then Iโ€™m going back to the usual lol
