A 1-Corinthians Body

…So God has put the body together such that extra honor and care are given to those parts that have less dignity. This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.

All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

1 Corinthians 12:24-27

We are the body. When one part suffers, the body suffers with it.

Relevance to today in our body of Christ.

Injustice. Oppression. Hate. Division. Lack of empathy. Racism.

These are all words to describe the world today and what we have to face, whether it’s personally or seeing it play out toward our brothers and sisters. That’s who they are. On every single side of things. I have many brothers and sisters in Christ that are police officers. On the flip side, I have several brothers and sisters in Christ who are African American.

When we begin to see the body of Christ as LITERALLY a body, we should feel the pain our body parts are feeling. When one part suffers, the whole body cries out. When they cry to be heard, when they cry for relief, when they reach out for help, when they are being treated unfairly. What are we doing?

This is happening today. Our brothers and sisters are HURTING. Are we listening? Are we hurting with them?

What if, starting today, we began to work out and get in shape as one body? You can’t very well face an opponent or a battle if you’re the weakest one on the field, right? We need to be strong in the Lord and fight for what’s right in the name of God.

I’ve started the playlist on Spotify that I’ve linked below. It’s purpose is to be uplifting, encouraging, hopeful and pointing to Him for strength and endurance.

Praying for you, dear brothers and sisters.
