Gifting in the Snow

Gifting in the snow… on a one-horse open sleigh –

Oh.

If you’re anywhere in the United States, you’ve probably heard about the snow and have a decent chance of getting some yourself. Thankfully, where I am, we did not get ice, and we also didn’t get the initial amount of snow fall they predicted. I will still be inside for days. I doubt I will be making my Monday afternoon eye appointment that I made last week for some reason. 🙂 Guess I really wanted to go!

I’ve been trying to find my spiritual gifts pamphlet I got a couple years ago and hey, guess what, I haven’t found it! So I just ordered one. One day when I find the other one, I can gift it! LOL

Spiritual gifts are interesting to me and it’s just one of those topics I’m stuck on recently. I think they can be things we already know about ourselves, like with our personalities. I don’t need a test to tell me I’m an introvert, that’s just a given. I know it and everyone else knows it. Generally, I think there’s a sense of what your gifting is without a test.

As with anything though, I believe the test just confirms what we already know and backs it up further. Some tests give you more knowledge about whatever it is – the personalities can show you insights of what you work well with, where you thrive and what may need more attention in your life, for example.

Anyway, my little pamphlet on spiritual gifts (I’m going to link it below!) go through all the gifts from the Bible with references and descriptions. There’s also a survey where you go through and answer the questions with a number, then you fill in the chart based on your answers to find where you land on the spiritual gifting.

I was going to recreate that chart in an excel sheet or on a piece of paper but then I was like nah, there’s probably one online. I was riiiiiight.

I found this site (also linked below) and it was so easy and also, really helpful to me. It’s simple, it’s not flashy or like over the top, but it was just what I needed.

As I said, I think we have a sense for our own gifting based on our interests and strengths. I’ve kind of felt lost as far as my own gifting goes. It might have to do with this season I’m in, but I’ve also never taken a spiritual gift test (even though I’ve had this pamphlet for two years somewhere in my house).

The results affirmed what I thought, but never truly considered my gifting. I tend to compare what I’ve been given with others and see them thriving somewhere else, not taking into account that our gifts are different. Just because someone is somewhere else doesn’t mean where we are is wrong.

Giving and teaching being my top two isn’t really a surprise now that I’ve taken the quiz. I just didn’t really consider that those could be my gifts even though that’s what I enjoy.

Feeling ecstatic about this and I have a little more vigor to keep going.

If you have a few minutes and are curious about your spiritual gifts like I’ve been, go online and take a quiz! I’m sure there are others – I poked around online and got this one. 🙂

So this is what I’ve been up to during the snowstorm of the decade! LOL. This and reading and watching hockey and doing some workouts (you don’t have to ask, they’re always indoors 🙂 ).

I hope you have a safe and cozy Sunday!
