I was headed home last night from my friend’s house where we were discussing God’s Providence, when Indescribable by Chris Tomlin came on my playlist. Heard it a million times (close, anyway, haha) and one of the opening lyrics is “Every creature unique in the song that it sings.”
This made me think about how just a few months ago I had shared, possibly in one of my monthly posts about books, that (I think) Emma St Clair said in a book, even if it’s the same story, no one has heard the story from you. The story you tell is unique because it came from you.
Sometimes that comes to me and I’m like, Come on, Summer. Just go write what’s in your head. Then I don’t. 🙂
Every creature is unique in the song that it sings. The story it tells. The painting it creates. The hospitality it provides. So many things!
The encouragement came from that, but also, just that we were created for this purpose. Whatever it is. Whatever we’re doing. We’re unique in our skillset, background, time and place. All that wasn’t just by some “luck” or “chance,” because it took planning and God’s wisdom and providence to make all that work out in such a way.
This is why we should tell our story!
There are so many things we as humans don’t know, because we’re not God. We can’t know all the ways that He works. We trust in Him and that He works it all for good.
How can you actively live and embrace the uniqueness God gave you today? How will you further the Gospel in this truth?
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28
