I love listening to country music. It’s a large majority of what I listen to, even with my wide music tastes. As I’ve shared before, I love Spotify. I listen to music most hours of the day, especially Monday through Friday as I work. That’s how I rack up hours upon hours (in the hundreds… or thousands) per year.

Because I listen so much, I tend to listen to songs on repeat because I become addicted somehow. Spotify creates an “On Repeat” playlist and every so often, maybe every week, it’ll update. I don’t know the frequency.

Since I’m also found on Instagram a lot, in between the books of course, I also see the trend of music through reels and advertisements. In some cases, my friends or people I follow posts songs either to photos, reels or stories. I happened upon Zach Top because one of my friends posted him and she’s a country fan, too, so I figured I’d look him up as I had never heard of him.

Oh my goodness. I don’t know how I hadn’t heard of him. I may have heard a song on the radio, but I never put it together – I don’t listen to the radio much, because…. SPOTIFY. Once I looked him up, I immediately binged everything he has, which isn’t much.

So that began my addiction to this guy’s music with his traditional, 90s country sound. He does not have enough music produced yet for my taste because I can listen to all his music too quickly. Though I obviously have no problem listening to music on repeat, he needs to reach the amount of songs Morgan Wallen has currently released so I can spend at least an hour and still not have listened to all his recorded artistry.

This past week, my mind was wandering, as it occasionally does, and I was like… he has an odd name. I’ve never heard of the last name Top before. What about the last name bottom? And ya know what, if you flip his first name, it’s basically Chaz. So it would be hilarious if there was another singer vying for attention named Chaz Bottom. Who could Top that????

So while this post is somewhat pointless, I do just want to share that I am hopelessly addicted to this guy’s sound, and he is now a staple on all my playlists that allow country music.

Lainey Wilson – Heart Like a Truck hooked me from day one, but current song addictions include 4x4xU and Out of Oklahoma (which is a song from the new Twisters movie partially filmed in OK that I really want to see and I never watch movies!!).

Post Malone (I know, surprise), but he came out with a country album JUST THIS PAST WEEK and I had to listen. As I write this I just found out he released more of this album and I haven’t listened to it… so I must rectify that soon. For now, my favorite song is Right About You because it goes along loosely with a book I’m reading.
