Why do cats have nine lives? Is it just cats who have nine lives? What’s their purpose? WHY CATS?
This would make a lot more sense if I just had some answers.
Let’s get Google-y.
According to PetMate.com, “Cats surviving high falls or dangerous situations contribute to the myth of their “nine lives.” This myth also comes from ancient times when cats were seen as almost divine. So, the idea that they live nine times over is more about their impressive survival skills and historical reverence than reality.“
Okay, that explanation tracks. Cats are that one animal that jumps and falls and lands gracefully somehow. They make funny videos for America’s Funniest Videos, that’s for sure.
You know who else I think has the same myth of nine lives? Preteen and teenage boys. Specifically, my nephew. Wild child sometimes. He likes to do stunts and sometimes, I just don’t even wanna know, let alone watch.
Fun Summer fact: Years ago, I think I was in like middle school, I took an allergy test that tested me for all different kinds of things. Apparently I was allergic to cats??? But I never had any reaction around cats and I was around cats at family and friends houses. Very odd.
Thanks for popping in and reading a random post about cats! Have a great Friday and weekend! Hope its… purr-fect 🙂
Today’s post was brought to you by more questions than answers, thanks to life.
