Hanging with Jesus

I was combing my hair when a thought came to me out of nowhere.

Who we spend time with matters. We tend to take on characteristics or little things about those we hang around with. How much time do you spend with Jesus? Do people know that you do?

As with growing up, we’re told – or at least it was talked about around me, not really TOWARD me – that if you hang with bad people, you’ll end up doing those same type of things. Basically. 🤪

The same can be said for all aspects of life. Spiritually, we should be hanging out with Jesus, being filled with His word regularly. What better influence is there? I’ll wait.

We were created to glorify God. If we know this and have been called by the Spirit, how are we going to get there?

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one gets to the Father except through Him.

One can infer that if we are followers of Jesus, we have all that we need through the Spirit, communication through prayer and His Word, to do all the things He has called us to – and glorify Him in all things.

There is no other way apart from Him to accomplish our divine purpose created by THE God of the universe.

Today I leave you with two encouragements.

1: If you’re struggling to find purpose or meaning to life, get in the Word. Maybe you’ve heard that before and you don’t know where to start. As I’ve studied more of the book (Gospel) of John, I myself understand why people always recommend it as a starting point. So, start spending time with God and discover His goodness and that He loves you no matter how you come to Him. Let Him use you and do a work in you.

2: Get involved in a community or group of friends. Surround yourself with the good influences that point you back to Scripture and encourage you to keep doing the next right thing.

Go hang with Jesus.

Such a great point. I hope and pray we become more like Jesus, because of all the time we spend with Him! 🙌♥️🙏
