Conceal & Discover

I guess at this point it was over a month ago, but June flew by so fast I feel like the beginning of June was just yesterday!

Anyway, over a month ago, I was listening in to the conference series that my friend’s church had online and the pastor that was speaking said “Science doesn’t determine truth, science discovers truth.”

That alone percolated in my mind for several days, if not a good two weeks, because I was telling my friends about it. I had never thought of it like that.

Then here I am in July and my Chronological Bible is making me think of it again when I get to a Proverb.

It is God’s privilege to conceal things and the king’s privilege to discover them.

Proverbs 25:2

Is it not amazing that God can and does conceal and reveal things at just the right time to the right people? Over time technology has been discovered and progressed. Not because the potential wasn’t there, it most certainly was, but God has made a way from the very beginning. Slowly these things come to fruition in His timing.

We are so privileged to have God who conceals the things we don’t need right now rather than letting it all out for us – wouldn’t that be so overwhelming? And quite frankly, very boring and not very imaginative to know all the things. God is creative! Just look at creation itself!

Scientific discoveries are great and so beneficial to our society. You know what they don’t do, though? They don’t change truth. God establishes that in His word what is true and what isn’t. His very Word is the foundation for all other things. With the progression of science, you’ll find even more evidence of our God. It’s so exciting!

Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.

John 17:17

Today’s reminder:

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Philippians 4:8
